GAZA : Nakba

Les tensions le long de la frontière entre Gaza et Israël ont commencé dès le vendredi 30 mars, amorçant une série hebdomadaire de rassemblements de masse le long de la barrière frontalière. La Marche du retour devait culminer le 15 mai, jour du Yawm al-Nakba ou «Jour de la Catastrophe» qui commémore l'anniversaire de l’exil de masse de centaines de milliers de Palestiniens pendant la guerre de 1948 lors de la création d’Israël. Ces affrontements hebdomadaire on fait plus de 100 morts parmi les manifestants palestiniens et plus de 1 700 blessés par les tirs de l'armée israélienne. La mobilisation du lundi 14 mai a été organisée en réaction à l’ouverture de l’ambassade des US à Jérusalem : avec plus de 50 morts, il s’agit du jour le plus meurtrier à Gaza depuis la guerre de l’été 2014 contre Israël.
En plus des jeunes hommes présents sur le front, d’autres catégories ne furent pas épargnées par la réplique israélienne : les femmes, les enfants, mais aussi les journalistes locaux et les aides-soignants. Armés de lance-pierre et de frondes, les manifestants se sont vus répondre par des gaz lacrymogène et des tirs à balles réelles. L’hécatombe meurtrière du 14 mai découragera la population pour le rassemblement du lendemain : le fameux 15 mai, jour de la Nakba, n’aura pas la mobilisation espérée.

Pour les 1,9 million de Palestiniens vivant dans la bande de Gaza, la vie est devenue une lutte quotidienne, en ce qui concerne la fourniture d’énergie (eau et électricité), tandis que le pouvoir d’achat est en baisse, la situation économique étant gravement affecté après dix ans de blocus israélo-égyptien sur l’enclave palestinienne. Au point mort, la réconciliation inter palestinienne n’arrange en rien la situation.
Les dirigeants du Hamas, le mouvement islamiste qui contrôle Gaza depuis 2007, ont juré que la mobilisation de la Marche se poursuivra jusqu'à ce que le blocus israélo-égyptien soit levé. Cependant, après sept semaines de manifestations le long de la frontière, une centaine de morts et des blessés par milliers, aucune amélioration notable n’est observée et le blocus demeure.

He died during the demonstration of Friday, May 12 during clashes with the Israeli army. he was shooted in the chest. Tensions are high along the Gaza-Israel border following more than a month of weekly mass protests near the fence that has left 50 Palestinian protesters killed and over 1,700 wounded by Israeli army fire. Gaza's Hamas rulers have vowed that the marches will continue until the decade-old Israeli blockade of the territory is lifted.
